YouTube Shorts adds new feature, allowing creators to add text and filters to thumbnails

The new features allow creators to customize thumbnails for their Short videos with text, filters, and emojis. In addition, it gives creators more options when selecting thumbnails and makes it easier to customize thumbnails for their videos. In the video Posts YouTube shared more details about the rollout of the new feature on its Creator Inside channel: You will now be able to add text, filters and emojis to your Shorts video thumbnails: When you select a thumbnail for your Shorts video, you will now see two new floating options in the top-right corner of the screen for adding text and filters.

In addition to the new customization options, users can now select and edit thumbnails for their YouTube Shorts after uploading them on both Android and iOS devices. With the introduction of these “highly requested” features, the platform aims to give creators even more aesthetic control over their short videos across devices. These thumbnails will only be visible on search, hashtag, audio and pivot pages.

YouTube is also reportedly considering adding additional features to thumbnails for short videos next year.

YouTube Recent Announced The company announced a price hike for its premium subscription plans in India. The Individual plan, a subscription that allows a single user to stream videos, has been increased to Rs 149 per month from Rs 129 per month earlier. Meanwhile, users opting for the Family plan will see their price increase to Rs 299 per month from Rs 189 per month earlier. The cheapest way to watch YouTube videos without ads is the Student plan, which now costs Rs 89 per month. This plan was priced at Rs 79 per month before the price increase.
