Google We have started to develop Android 14 September security patch for the latest Pixel 9 series and older models. The update does not include any notable new features, but fixes critical security vulnerabilities that, if left unresolved, could leave devices vulnerable to malicious threat actors. The rollout comes as Google announces the Android 15 AOSP release, which is expected to hit Pixel devices first in the coming weeks.
Google Pixel Android 14 September update
According to According to the September Pixel update bulletin, the security patch fixes multiple vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical severity. The vulnerability, numbered CVE-2024-32896, is “subject to limited, targeted attacks.” The Pixel update changelog simply states, “This update fixes critical bugs and improves the performance and security of your device.”
Google said it fixed 11 security issues in its September Android 14 patch on Sept. 1, and the Sept. 5 patch brings the total number of resolved vulnerabilities to 36.
The over-the-air (OTA) update has started rolling out for supported Google Pixel smartphones. Gadgets 360 staff has been able to confirm its availability on the Pixel. Factory and OTA images for the update are also now available. The devices eligible for the update are:
- Google Pixel 6 series
- Google Pixel 7 series
- Google Pixel 8 series
- Google Pixel Folding
- Google Pixel 9 series

Android 15 rollout
